areas and forest tracts beckon you to explore places you'll never
see from the main roads. With more than 500 kilometres of well
maintained trails linked to another 1,000 km connecting to more
than 15,000 km throughout Ontario, Kawartha Lakes is a snowmobiler's
paradise. Restaurant and pub parking lots full of snowmobiles
are a common sight as enthusiasts travel from through beautiful
scenery from village to village on the snow. Nearly every community
has a dealership offering sales and service to snowmobilers. Trail
users must have a valid license and insurance, and should respect
both the trails and other riders.

The Kawarthas

Check out Northumberland's numerous trails, many of which offer
opportunities not just for hiking, but also cross-country skiing
and horseback riding. Northumberland Forest north of Cobourg on

just two destinations that abound with trails for snowmobiling

York Region
Go cross country skiing at the Kortright Centre or take in
a winter celebration or Maple Syrup Festival. Try down hill skiing
